ACC Templates for creating custom liveries - FELIXDICIT (1)

Update January 25th, 2024: the GT2 templates have been generously donated to me, so the link below is once again complete with all existing templates and other goodies!

In order to create custom liveries for Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), you need skin-templates. I’ve got you covered on this. You can download the templates for all cars (GT2, GT3, GT4 and Open Class) from my Google Drive. To do so, click the link below!

>> Link to Drive folder <<

How to use

If you’ve downloaded the contents from the link above, you might want to look at my in-depth tutorial to get yourself started.

In the folder itself, you’ll find several folders:

  1. GT3 (all GT3 cars);
  2. GT2 (all GT2 cars);
  3. GT4 (all GT4 cars);
  4. Open Class
  5. Paint values
  6. SRO country flags
  7. Sponsor logos
  8. “REVERSE ENGINEERING EXAMPLE.AI”
    • “decals.json” (to put in your ‘liveries’-folder)
    • “sponsors.json” (to put in your ‘liveries’-folder)

Numbers 1 to 4 contain the templates of each car, this needs no further explanation.

In the folder named ‘5. Paint Values’ you’ll find the 6 basic paint values used in-game (glossy, matte, satin, satin metallic, metallic and chrome). Simply copy the file you need to your “liveries” folder and rename it to either “decals.json” or “sponsors.json”

Folder ‘6. SRO country flags’ contains a selection of SRO’s national flags for use in your designs. Official liveries use these on the hood of the car to denote the nationality of the team. You can use them to show driver nationalities on the door as well.

Folder ‘7. Sponsor logos’ contains a number of logos I’ve used in making my liveries which you can use to put on your liveries. Most often, these are recoloured versions due to the albedo effect in the game. If so, their colour code is written behind the company name (most often f4f4f4 for off-white or 0c0c0c for near-black).

The file ‘6. REVERSE ENGINEERING EXAMPLE.AI’ is an example of my own work which you can use to experiment with.

Now get to creating!

If you need some further inspiration, here is a link to all the custom liveries I (and friends) made.

If you need help or further assistance with these ACC templates, make sure to read my in-depth tutorial on how to make skins. If that doesn’t answer your question, leave a comment or reach out to me on twitter, via @felixdicit.

    great job, wonderful, but I would like to understand if it is also possible to customize the banner, which in your 3D can be colored but I don’t know how to save it to view it in ACC.

      Hi Flavio. It isn’t possible to customize the banner. However, you are able to choose from different options using the in-game editor.

      Hi, I don’t know if I understand you correctly, but if I do, you need to turn the “template lines” layer invisible or transparent before saving.

    Hi there! So, for the new challenge pack DLC cars, is there any way to reverse engineer the template for custom liveries or do we have to wait for the new templates to show up somewhere?

    Just a FYI. The following is not listed with the correct file numbers.
    Numbers 1 to 4 contain the templates pertaining to each car, this needs no further explanation.

    Hey – Idk if im being dumb, but on the Mclaren 720s skin file – the design only lets you colour in a portion of the wireframe. I cannot colour in the space below the very bottom of the lights for example. Is there a reason for this ?

      Hi Aaron, there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers. And in this case, I am not sure which particular part you’re talking about. Do you mean inside the highlights? Or do you mean the highbeams below the headlights? Neither can be painted. However, you’re saying you can’t color a portion of the wireframe, implying a larger area. Do you mean the big black blot, like on the roof? You can simply disable this layer, or paint on top of it.

      Hi Ghoover, you need to open it in a suitable software program, like Adobe Illustrator or similar program which can open .AI files. If you do, you can see how the livery I made is built-up, so you can mess around with it and try it out for yourself.

      I don’t know if this answers your question, if not, could you tell me what, specifically, you need help with?

      I took a look at the template, and it does look like a PITA to work with, but I guess that is inherent to the design of the 296 and not really the fault of the template itself.

      Hi Shane, unfortunately not (that I know of). The ability to make full custom liveries was made during Covid lockdowns, in order to allow the eSports teams to implement their own liveries for the series which replaced real world racing for a bit. Luckily, they haven’t closed this opportunity, but they did not open it further to include other parts of the game.

      Hi! Ofcourse:
      Audi R8: 80

      KTM GT2: 82
      Maserati MC20: 83
      Mercedes GT2: 84
      Porsche 991II GT2CS: 85
      Porsche 935: 86

      Interestingly, the #81 carmodel is missing. IMHO, this could’ve been reserved for the Brabham. There’s a slim possibility it will be finished at a later date and included with either a free update or the Nordschleife DLC, but I wouldn’t count on it.
