The Perfect Easy Apple Crisp Recipe (1)

Chocolate may be my first love, but sometimes there is nothing better than an easy apple crisp. It is a wonderful dessert to pair with a summer barbecue, or to make ahead and bring to a friend or neighbor with some vanilla ice cream.

Easy Apple Crisp

To me there is one main factor that contributes to the affectionate title "perfect" mentioned above, and that is the crisp/apple ratio. The "crisp" is the critical component, am I right? This crisp is the amazing.

Some of our other favorite summertime desserts are our homemade blackberry ice cream and our famous no bake cookies!

  • After the allotted cook time make sure that your apples are soft through. If crumble is beginning to brown and apples need more cook time, cover the pan with foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes.
  • If I am in a hurry I like to buy pre-sliced and peeled apples to hasten preparation time. Otherwise, I love this tool for coring and slicing apples.
  • Freezing instructions: Prepare and cook as directed. Wrap pan tightly with aluminum foil and store in the freezer for up to three months. Thaw overnight in fridge and warm in oven at 350 for 20-30 minutes or until warm through.
  • Serve with whipped cream and caramel sauce or your favorite vanilla ice cream.
