Just bought my MSM yesterday and enjoying the cool weather lately, Im in Downtown / Brickell if any one is down here

I'm in Hollywood, I go around when I can. Got off of work tonight, wanted to cruise around the beach, ended up taking A1A all the way down to South Beach. Top down the whole way, weather was awesome

Drove down to Hollywood Beach yesterday. The weather was glorious. Since I'm retired now, I go out cruising for an hour or more every day enjoying the beautiful weather. There are two more NA/NB Miata's in my neighborhood and two or three more I see locally in Weston but don't see many others out there. Only seen one Club model in the last year on the road. Strange why you don't see more since they are very nice looking. I had my striping done before the Club actually came out. I guess they copied my idea, except for the hood stripe.

Got back on Monday, took delivery yesterday. Dropped it off at the mechanic to be inspected, need a new A/C compressor (yay) and a few other things but nothing major. Enjoyed a nice long top down cruise last night, I love this car. Went to work for a couple meetings but now I'm home and getting out the tools to change the fog light bulbs and remove the spare tire and jack.

Thread has been dead for a bit. Finally got my A/C back in running order! Ready for a cruise whennever you guys are. I'm on night shifts through Thursday but off for the weekend. Anyways, removed the old stereo components from my previous vehicle, and ready to put them in the Miata. I am not terribly experienced in this area, but if anyone is, would love a hand or some local guidance. I can offer an AudioControl LC7i sound processor, JL 13w3 w/ box, and/or some beers and bad jokes. Either way, looking forward to ride!

Hey this Saturday there is a MazdaPros meet at 11am. If you want we can meet up and ride over together. They are also doing something on Sunday. If anything I work 3pm to 12am during the week. I can help you out on the sound system during the week if you want. Let me know.

Count me in for any meets or cruise, I know a couple other miata owners here, we normally go every friday to the K1 speed car meet in medley. We get about 4-6 miatas on average there, you guys should definitely come by sometime.

Also has anyone been to the tilted kilt in boca yet, i herd its a hotspot now for carmeets on wensdays. Maby we all can meet up and drive there in a group one night.

I swung by a little late, the girl was itching to get to the beach so I wasnt there long.

Totally missed this thread. Been out of town on vacation and won't be back for another two weeks. I'll be interested for a Miata cruise/meet. It's been a while since the last one.

Hello guys! I'm new here in US, and I bought a 2008 NC.
I study near of Tilted Kilt in Fort Lauderdale, and I live in Coconut Creek.
I'm looking for Auto-X, hot laps, or any kind of places and events where I can enjoy the car. But maybe not so expensive events like track days.

I'm very interested in any kind of auto-x, hot-laps, even track days! :jump: :jump:

You should check out hooked on driving. They host events down at Homestead Speedway. Their next event is July 12th. You do have to have a roll bar installed to race, and there are other regualtions, but nothing too crazy. I'll probably go once I have the cash for that roll bar. But for now I'll be on the look out for auto cross :jump:

HOD does not allow cars without rollover protection to drive in our High Performance Driving Events.*This would include (...) Miata (1990‐2006) (...)

Good news for 2007-present:
The following convertibles with factory rollover protection, are allowed, but LIMITED to A and B run groups, and are restricted from running R compound tires:*(...) Mazda Miata 2007‐present

... but, although of all this stuff, a U$299 event is a bit expensive for me at this time...

Maybe an auto-x will be better for my first time...

But... "Roll Racing, Arm Drops".. I'm not familiar with these types of races, but I think that all of them are like drag racing. I'm wrong? Because I'm not so interested in drag racing. I wan't to do some corners in high speed! :D

Also tracknightinamerica is a new offering by SCCA and they do evening events at PBIR.

Starts at 4 pm and you get 3 hours on track. Again, no issue with oem roll hoops and soft top.

Best part, is that they will allow you to sign a waiver and run your Miata, without roll bar porotection on the main track.

Humm, I'm seeing this message just now, and you wrote it yesterday at midnight. And I couldn't find nothing in the thehpde site for today or tomorrow, so I am not sure if the event is today or tomorrow... I'm pretty interested in auto-X, but today I will have guests in my house, so I can't go.

It was this evening in the drizzling rain. Made for a slippery track. Got in 6 runs each. I think quickest run was 67 seconds or so. My best was 80 flat. Couldn't get the power down at all. But sliding around so much was fun and taught me where the limits of the car are.

I think you couldn't see it on the website because they close on-line registration 24 hours before the event.

I was there as well i was the red nc number 55 out there. Was my first time best my first run out when it was dry, i did a 71. My best run in the rain was a 77.

Nice runs. My nearly bald S-Drives killed me. Couldnt get any power down. I was in the red NA #10 with the hardtop. Ran in the first group.

I think i rember you out there. I didnt really get a chance to talk to any of the NA owners i use to have a NA my self a 91. Still miss it at times. I was having traction problems like crazy in some of the turns. I was under driving the car. But if i tryed to push anymore i would just spin.

I did not know you could run on the main track with out a roll bar. when i was out there on te autox course, i was wondering why there were a few NC out there going on the track with no roll bars or 5 point harnesses. now i know lol

I just wanted to pop in and say what's up to everyone here. I just moved down here from NYC and just got my first Miata *yesterday*, a 97NA and I absolutely love it. I'm getting fried on 95 coming home but I love it.

It'd be cool to do a ride sometime, the weather down here is ridiculous. Looking forward to it.

Haha, yeah, I'm not thrilled; it rained a bit yesterday and I had a slow drip coming from my passenger side seal. I'm hoping I just didn't attach the top well, as it was my first time putting the top down and back up. When I inspected the seals on the top itself, the frame, and the actual door, everything looks like it's in good shape, so I'm hoping I just put it on sh*ttily my first time.

I'm probably going to find a parking garage for it during this storm though -_-

I'm in the market for a NA miata, or a NB for cheap, to be my dd/track car, if anyone knows of anyone. Who might be selling one, can you let me know, I don't Care to much about the paint and if it has little dings in it and stuff, more of a factor if the drive lines good, and if everything like lights work ok it. I'm in the market between 500-and 1500, but depending on what I find I may have to go up to get a better car.

I have a '90 with a '93 engine ('90 suffered a broken crank) with 105,000 miles, a good top and A/C for $2500.

If anybody is interested, there are two autocross events coming up. Both at the BB&T center in Sunrise. One is being hosted by the Gold Coast Region (A Porsche club chapter here in South Florida) and the other is by Equipe Rapide, or ER.

I was at ER's last event on the 27th of September and everyone was able to get 6 runs in. Really good time. Also the weather was clear, hopefully it'll be the same for this coming event.

The course was set pretty nicely last time. We had about 5 Miatas there. I think the fastest time of the day was set by a new Mustang GT. But it doesn't even matter, it was so much fun!!!

I would try Mazdapros in Hollywood. Very knowledgable and friendly. They're really the only people I let touch my car if I can't do something myself.

wow man, sorry to hear this. Its really a messed up world we're living in. Glad things turned out ok for you. I know what it feels like to lose a car that you've dedicated so much to due to an idiot just not giving a rats butt. In the end, those people i know have a much much worse life than we do.

Enjoy the ND and don't park near corners lol. I know we're not safe anywhere but, knowing that mini van drivers and mustang drivers are out there, lol its best to steer clear. :thumbs:

I've been posting on the South FL Miata Owners Facebook group to generate interest in this, and have posted that if anyone is interested in a caravan from Broward, I can meet you at the Shell station off Sunrise Blvd and the Sawgrass Expressway. (For those living out east, it's best to take 95 directly. I'm west, so need to hop on the 869).

Let me know if anyone is interested in driving up convoy style from Broward!

No news to report, sorry. I slept through registration like a loser. :mad: My band had a gig the previous evening (our last, actually), so I got home around 3am, and I set an alarm for 7. Woke up around noon. D'OH. At least I'm pre-registered for the next one.

I'm going to trek up to Ft. Myers for the autocross weekend September 10 and 11, is anyone else planning on heading up? I'll probably go up Friday evening if anyone feels like starting the drive in a group or meeting up at the autocross.

I've slept thru plenty of alarms but never for skiing or autocross :p. Too bad you missed it but the one at Fort Myers looks like a better venue. I moved to FL from Ohio and ran a WRX with NWOR SCCA for several years and loved our venue at the Toledo Airport.

I was planning on driving up before the event on Saturday and found a cheap room for Sat night. If you've got room/options for Friday night, I'd be interested...

Dresnick^^^ and I are looking to organize a weekly meet for the West Palm, Wellington, Lake Worth, Boynton, Delray etc family.

We were thinking Thursday night wings, maybe at BWW in Boynton or something similar around 7pm each week. He and I hung out last night and had a great time talking cars and sharing stories over some grub.

I'm suddenly realizing this is the BROWARD thread....but nevertheless......

Well....my hot lap video was glitchy so I came back to do another run. My zeitgeist was with me the first time. Now I'm with a friend. It's real fun. No crowd. Nice and spaced out. Highly recommended.
