Is this cookie dough recipe safe to eat?

As with any recipe (or gosh, seems like anything these days), there can be a risk of bacteria or other things when working with various types of flour. It is not advised to eat raw flour. Cookie dough cafes use professional heat treat machinery to make their dough safe to eat.

We can do only what we feel is safe, so if you would rather, please use heat treated flour purchased from the store for your recipe. Our recipe is an idea for your kitchen, we are in by no ways saying that safeness is guaranteed at all. We took out the eggs, so we feel pretty good about eating it. You have to feel comfortable doing so too!

Did you enjoy this edible cookie dough recipe?

We decided to go with a smooth, creamy recipe with added sprinkles. If you are looking for a texture filled recipe, we highly suggest our fave from our long time friend, Christi, at Love From the Oven. She got us started on this obssession actually.

We tweaked her recipe a little by adding 1/4 cup more chocolate chips and 1/4 coconut. The coconut adds a perfect extra pop of flavor and sweetness when we tried it.

Whether you like creamy or full of texture, this trend is sure stay!
